FAQ about donating on Learn2Deutsch

1.Is it safe to donate?

All our donations are processed through third party platforms: Paypal and Buy me a coffee. We do not interfere with the process as they are both encrypted and well-secured by those platforms. All of your paymenets are processed by these platforms which are absolutley safe to interact with. Most of the business on the internet use them.

2.Why would i donate to you?

We strongly believe in the principle of free-education. Yet, the maintanance of the site or the desire to add new features and content for our community requires money. We are not fans of intrusive ads or pay-wall content. We are ourselves users of others websites and platforms and we do know the feeling. So the only way to support the spending of the site is through our community and theyr desire to learn. Also, both of creatores of site have good jobs in real-life and we take no money as revenue. All of the money are reinvested in making the site a better place to learn from.

3.How are the donations managed?

All the money we get from the site are used in two ways, both transparent. The first is for the maintanance of the site (all the script we use, technology, subscriptions to different platforms for your experience). The second one is for creating better and more developed features and content (the platforms we use, the people we pay. The content on our site is not randomly made, but it goes through psychologists, native-speaking-germans and people who are really good at making thing looks nice on the web. All the revenue we got is for making it a better experience, and, adding monthly new content.

4.How much money/ donations do you need?

There's actually no upper limit (lol!) and no minimum amount. Even those 3$ that you randomly used on that coffee when you were out, are added to the piggy-bank they are well-used for creating a better epxerience for you.

5.Do you get enough money through donations?

We do know it is not the smartest way to monetise a site. All our competitors use paid content or memberships: which obligates you to pay to acces the content. We could do it too, but as we already mentioned, we are users of internet content aswell. And we do know the frustrations of having to pay to learn. Our values are against it so the only way we can work is by asking for donations from people who can spare some change for us.

All the money we recieve from donations are simply for improving the content on our site. We put all the money on developing new features for the site, brining new technologies and making it a better experience for you. Both members of our team have good jobs and this site is just a a hobby that we love to invest in.

Your help keep us alive. There is no pay-wall for any content, so the only way we are here is our community.

Do yo remember that 1 Euro that you lost on your jacket? Or the 5 Euros that you pay for a random coffee when you are out in town ?

Most of the time, these amounts, gathered from few people are what keep us alive on the internet. Also they are what we need to invest in the new content, features and technology to improve our platform.

Spare some change for education?

It's not mandatory to help us. Just if want to do so.
Also, the donations are really cheap.

All the content available on our site is absolutley free for everyone to use. We don't charge money for extra lessons or so.

The only way we support our maintanance (host of the site, subscriptions for different platforms and scripts used on the site) is by donations and support from our community.
